Social Justice

Part of the Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY’s mission is to present compelling theatrical experiences that create community dialogue and give voice to societal concerns as they relate to racial injustice and black trauma. We also strive to provide various youth, educational and community outreach programs that will create long-lasting relationships with the communities that we serve.

Here are just a few of our experiences over the last decade and we hope we can continue to engage with our artists, audiences, communities throughout this next decade.

Partnering with several local theatre companies, the Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY curated and co-produced a digital theatrical response to police brutality and systemic racism in June, 2020.

Camp Logan
